Event Details

Richmond Code Camp is a fun, information-packed day full of social networking and professional development opportunities. It's run by developers for developers. It's totally free. Your only disappointment will be that there were too many interesting sessions that you couldn't attend because you simply ran out of time. That's a good problem to have. So bring friend and coworkers to divide and conquer! Read on to find out more. And please be sure to add RichmondCodeCamp@mail.vresp.com to your e-mail whitelist filter so that our future Code Camp messages can get through to you. Thanks!

What's It All About?

The Code Camp concept was developed by some developers in Boston, Mass. who were tired of the boring, expensive, formal training that was available on the market. They decided to bring some developers together to offer a day full of peer-oriented training instead. Sitting around a campfire and telling stories has been a great way to learn for many generations. So they asked, "Why can't learning technology be that way?" The first Code Camp was free and fun and quirky. It was also an idea that revolutionized how developers in the Microsoft space in particular socialize with one another and teach themselves peer-to-peer.

In Richmond, Virginia, the next event will be our 10th Code Camp so we're calling it Richmond Code Camp X. We are keeping the tradition alive by making this event free and fun and sometimes a little bit quirky. The pace is light and fast. We're going to have about 4 dozen talks on software and database development, business intelligence, portals, IT Pro and more. Our contributors provide free breakfast and free lunch. There will be plenty of time for the social networking that's so important to do in this down economy. Thanks to our host J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, we also have awesome, modern facilities, free Wi-Fi, great parking and more. If this is camping, we're definitely doing it in style!
